About Jamie

Jamie Baughan has enjoyed a 20-year acting career that spans film, television, theatre, and musicals.

Most recently, Jamie joined the cast of Netflix’s flagship series ‘The Crown’, playing opposite Elizabeth Debecki, with series six expected to air in November 2023.

Outside of acting, Jamie is a talented musician. He loves folk, roots and acoustic music and is one-third of the Bluegrass and Americana band ‘The Slim Pickins’.

He has been cast in several major feature films, including Holmes and Watson (2018), Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) and Legend (2014). He regularly appears on UK television (Breeders, Jerk, Josh, Eastenders, Hollyoaks, Casualty), has a strong portfolio of television advertising work, and is an experienced stage actor

Jamie trained at Drama Centre London. In his early career, Jamie played series regular Caudex in the ‘Roman Mysteries’ for the BBC, worked on Stella Feehilly’s 'Dreams of Violence' for acclaimed British theatre company ‘Out of Joint’ and developed a one-man show: ‘Joe Orton’, based on the playwright’s sensational, posthumously published diary.

Jamie enjoys working with great scripts and on projects that allow room for improvisation. Examples include Tom Shkolnik’s ‘The Comedian’, an entirely improvised feature, with each scene shot in just one take, and the 2016 short film ‘Freezing’, shot in sub-zero temperatures in remote locations in Iceland.

In theatre, Jamie has enjoyed a working relationship with national treasure Alan Ayckbourn, performing in his plays 'Joking Apart', 'By Jeeves' and as the central character in the world premiere of 'Birthdays Past, Birthdays Present'.

Jamie’s musical theatre includes playing Don in the Olivier Award-winning original cast of 'Kinky Boots' in the West End, Amos Hart in two national and international tours of 'Chicago', and a standout performance as Toad in 'The Wind in the Willows' at the Rose Theatre, Kingston.

Jamie has collaborated with industry talents, including directors Brian Helgeland, Chris Addison, David Schneider, Jerry Mitchell, Etan Cohen, James Bobin and Kate Wasserberg.
